Who you talk to
The Employee Assistance Programme, or EAP, gives you easy access to therapists and counsellors accredited by the BACP (the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
There are 2,000 of them across the UK, and every one is a fully trained counsellor or therapist.
We recognise how much members and their families need mental health and welfare support, so the EAP comes with every membership instead of costing extra. It gives a small business the kind of support usually only available to larger companies.
Three ways to get support
Choose the kind of appointment that feels right for you:
- Video. Talk to your counsellor face to face on screen.
- Phone. Speak to them from wherever you are.
- Face to face. Meet your counsellor in person.
There is also a confidential support line, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The member app gives you and your family instant access to mental health support, alongside the 24/7 GP.
What you can talk about
The EAP covers personal and work-related issues. Members and their families speak to counsellors about:
- Stress
- Relationship difficulties
- Bereavement
- Family issues
- Anxiety
- Emotional problems
- Health and wellbeing
- Debt management
The counsellors cover mental health, debt management, bereavement and much more, so treat the list as a starting point. If something is weighing on you, contact the support line and talk it through.
How many sessions you get
You can have up to 8 sessions per condition, per year, per member. The allowance applies to each condition you present in a year, so a separate issue has its own sessions.
- Up to 8 sessions for each condition
- A fresh allowance every year
- Video, phone or face to face, whichever suits you
Who can use it
The EAP is for you and your family. Your partner and your children over 16 can use the service too.
You can extend cover to your employees for £49 a year each, so your team can speak to an accredited counsellor too. Staff cover is only available to members.
More support for your wellbeing
Alongside the counselling sessions, your membership includes:
- Life coaching, for help and guidance with everyday life.
- E-learning modules you can work through in your own time.
- Weekly webinars on health and wellbeing topics.
Getting started
The EAP is part of every membership, which costs £129 a year for you and your family. After you join, your membership can take up to 48 hours to process, and your welcome letter and certificate arrive by email.
